For over 125 years Grenville Mutual has been committed to protecting you, our Members, through the most difficult of times. This year was no different. At the height of the 2020 pandemic, hundreds of people stepped up to help those around them. These ordinary people and local groups quickly leaned in to help, and many flew below the media radar.
Together with our distribution partners, Grenville Mutual decided to recognize those we named the “unsung heroes.”
Our goal was to look into the community to find people who unselfishly and compassionately offered care to others who were in need – our Members, their families, maybe a neighbour or a stranger. Every Grenville Mutual employee, Director and distribution partner was given $1,000 to recognize these unsung heroes. It’s what neighbours do. It’s what we do.
We were humbled by what we heard and the impact these donations had on so many. From food cupboards and frontline community health groups, to home support for vulnerable seniors and individuals who volunteered their vehicles, time or supplies – we were able to acknowledge more than 70 individual heroes.
